The Government makes another u-turn and decides not to contest the points of an impending judicial review.

In Kathy Bailes’ coverage of the latest episode in the story of the failed airport, I ask whether the money raised locally to pay for solicitors to fight the Government will be refunded by the Government. And will Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps now pave the way for a development of sustainable housing and business units on the land?

Why do we need to ‘consult’ on the ending of live animal exports?

We were told that live animal exports through the Port of Ramsgate would end with Brexit. With only days until the transition period ends, Environment Secretary George Eustice has announced an 8-week consultation on the trade. Why do we need a consultation? Do what was promised and just end this foul trade.

Amazing response to my Christmas toy appeal

Christmas toy appeal news clipping

I have been so pleased with the way Ramsgate residents and businesses have made Christmas that bit better for local kids this December. I put out an appeal for new and nearly-new toys and gifts to be donated so that families struggling to get by would still be able to have presents for their children.

The number of gifts collected so far will make a tremendous difference in many households, so thank you to everyone who has helped.
