Poverty: Thanet is at the sharp end

The country is going through a torrid and brutal (and wholly avoidable) time. Kent County Council are now expecting a £70m shortfall next year, and are suddenly discussing the cost of living crisis and it’s impact on residents. We can all expect more services to be cut. KCC’s response is they are preparing to lobby their Government.

As I informed the the full council on October 20th 2022, we’ve been dealing with a cost of living crisis in Thanet for some years now, which hits the vulnerable most hard. Many Thanet children are being dragged down by poverty in some wards. Child poverty is 50% and is growing – unchecked. Wake up KCC!
