While I was a senior officer (head of South England) with the Royal College of Midwives, we forcefully made our case before taking our historic strike action in 2015.
Andy Burnham, then an MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Health listened well, he knew the bursary was vital as were good union relations.
Since then the health unions and Royal Colleges report that the Government doesn’t even get around the table. We are in a very deep hole, the vital services we depend on and the people who deliver them are stretched to breaking point.
Our local MP, Craig Mackinlay is inept, deaf and uncaring. When the time comes vote him out! I’m hoping to stand as your MP. I know you and your families, I know the area, I know the issues, I know what needs to be done.
