I was pleased to be asked to speak on BBC Radio Kent this morning with Julia George about the recent shocking report on health issues in coastal communities by Professor Chris Whitty.
Firstly, I welcome this report by The Government’s Chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty, because I think it’s exactly the kind of deep dive we need into coastal communities’ health and the discrepancies in life expectancy. I mean, how come there’s 15 years difference in life expectancy between Tunbridge Wells and Clifftonville?
What could and should be done to close the gap? Listen to the interview with Chris Whitty followed by my discussion with Julia and let me know what you think?
